The Fasil Castles,located in the Gondar region of Ethiopia at an altitude of 2,121 meters, is anancient architectural complex built by Emperor Fasilidas in the 17th century.
The castle is surroundedby a 900-meter wall, and its core buildings include a palace, a church, amonastery, and a Turkish bath, integrating the traditional style of Axum withelements of Indian, Arab, and European Baroque architecture. In 1979, the castlewas listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Currently, it is being restoredby the Ethiopian government in collaboration with UNESCO.
